Kaffiiaa : A day before Navratri

Hey Loulies !

Hope you're doing all great.

I was out for a dinner with my friends yesterday. Here is what I wore for the date with my lovely ladies :)

We dined at Kiffianna, a multi cuisine restaurant specializing in Italian.  A place that lived up to its name and yeah don’t miss out on the hukka trial, they’ve got some really awesome amalgamated flavors.

The walls were decked out in vintage sketches and prints, big chalkboards, beautiful windows, and softness. I checked out the Arabic platter for the first time and felt happy with the choice we made.

We have navratri’s starting from today so the whole purpose of the visit was to stock up chicken as much as we could. :p
Though I am totally a spiritual person more than a religious acolyte.

For me it’s the Karma that all matters but keeping fasting and performing rituals are a family trend and I have been following it since a tender age and lately love doing it too. After all I never fail on making momma proud of me.  ;P

Felt good after I got home.

There is a lot more happening in this month and I am all mixed emotions about it. I’d be moving in a new apartment somewhat in the coming week.

I’ve been attached to my nest from day one when I stepped in post marriage. I turned it from hell to heaven. My decor been appreciated by so many people, all those blog posts...:(  While taking off the pictures and artifacts I felt a strange heartache. I think I would write a post soon on how bewildered this feeling is and on how my journey has been in this house.

For now stay tuned for my journey from home to a different home.

Stay Cheerful :) and apply the yolo rule!

Outfit of the day: Red and Black Brocade & Silk Sari with Kundan Earrings

Bonjour!! My lovely ladies!!

Hope the first month of the year is treating you well, hope all those who have resolutions are still sticking hard to them; all those weight loss plans are intact and the zeal is gushing full swing ….!! J

For most of us, this is the month of reflection, anticipation, of making plans, scratching plans, of counting blessings, hopes and even fears. Isn’t it?

For me this month is the start of love, flashing memories and ne
w fresh plans. Well the reason is, I tied knot with my beloved three years back in the same month. So January in all its form is special for me.

Remember in my last saree post I was telling you all about my anniversary. It was on the 20th of this month and I started to make plans to make this moment a memorable one, a month in advance.

So finally the hard work didn’t pine away and the day turned out magical for us.
Without further a delay, today I am sharing my anniversary outfit with you all here.  Hope you’ll equally love it as I did.
I wore a customized Sabyasachi Sari gifted to me by my beloved husband, sometime before our anniversary.

Floored?!? Aren't you? ;)  I know half of the million women in this world want to own a Sabyasachi ensemble. Me being a self-confessed Sari Fanatic, this was an absolute dream come true, doesn’t matter if this is just the basic one but I was truly happy.

MAKE UP: Yes, I did make up this time. A little bit of Clinique foundation for the base all over my face followed by the blush to add the tint of pink on my cheekbones. I wanted a dramatic lippy shade so I wore Red Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick.

HAIR: I love rollers! You can see the result bouncing on my shoulders ;) my pom pom tresses J (later made a lazy bun myself)

JEWELLERY: Keeping the jewelry as minimal as I could, I preferred wearing my most favorite traditional Kundan Red and Black uncut diamond Baliyaan. (Luckily it exactly matched my sari)

To my disappointment the breath of the sari was too less. When I tried wearing heels over it, it made me look funny. So I opted to go with flats. I chose to wear bronze beaded flats which, I normally wear with my regular ethnic wears.
I left the clutch and my bag in the car so it’s missing L

Hope you enjoyed the pictures, I know the next question arises about what place is it. It’s Magique, located in the gist of Garden of Five Senses in Delhi.  I was blown away with the beauty of this place. It’s a total worth if you’re planning a romantic dinner sometime with your beau. Do try this place.

What a lazy Day it is !

Seriously! what a lazy day it is. Delhi is freezing, never that I imagined that the weather is going to reach 1.5 degrees. Hard to believe isn't it ? but its true.
Imagine how are we poor souls managing to wake up for work in this weather, how are we going work ? and how are we going out. ...Arrrgghhh. If the temperature has dropped this low then no wonder its about to snow next year in Delhi.

Winters !! i hate you like i love you.

I am dozing off at my work station, have nothing much to do. Done with today's workload.
I wish I could leave a lil early for home, to enjoy that perfect cup of tea in my most favorite corner of my house - my balcony. I am right opposite to the swimming pool not a very great sight but isn't that bad either, but I still wish there could have been some little more plants and greenery at this place.

Office is so boring without any work so thought of playing around with my laptop camera. Not a bad idea it seems.

Here is a lazy photo shoot of today and many other such lazy days.

Must Haves For Your Fall Wardrobe, check out girls !

It’s time to throw out my list of Fall wardrobe “Must Haves”. These are of course my ideas of what every girl should have this season. But if you like my blog, then you’ll love these too because they’re definitely all my style.
1. Feminine Blouse
In my opinion, every woman should have a gorgeous feminine blouse in her closet for fall like the one featured below . Such an item can be paired with so many things from skirts to slacks and as you can see it works wonderfully with jeans as well too.
2. Neutral Long Cardigan
A neutral long cardigan is a must have in my opinion. With the weather getting cooler it’s a necessity to have layers handy, but this piece of clothing can be so fashionable too. Personally I’m really loving re-inventing my long cardigans from last season by belting them with several new skinny belts. Love!
3. Blazer
Every season can use a great blazer in your closet, but in Fall…blazers work exceedingly well. I love to throw on a blazer with a T-shirt underneath and jeans, like below, and top it off with a great scarf or statement necklace. How do you like to wear your blazer?
4. Belted T-Shirt
I’m so in love with the belting style this year….mainly because it means I can re-invent so many things already in my wardrobe all with the simple use of a belt. How awesome is that?
5. Maxi Skirt
The Maxi Skirt carries on from spring and summer now into Fall. And like most of you, I’m thrilled with the fact that it’s sticking around! So as the weather cools, wear it with tights and and boots underneath. And be sure to pair it with a belted T-shirt topped off with a blazer like pictured below. It’s FAB!
6. Polka Dots
Polka dots add a sense of class to any style, don’t you think. I mean seriously, who do you think of when you see polka dots? That’s right, major style icons from back in the day likeJacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Audrey Hepburn. But even current artists like Taylor Swiftare taking a cue from them nowadays. Which I think is great. Long live polka dots!
7. Over-sized Envelope Bag
The over-sized envelope bag is hot, hot, hot right now. And why wouldn’t it be with how cute it looks to carry one, right?
8. Thin Belt
As mentioned before, I think the thin belt trend over just about anything is probably my favorite fashion “Must Have”. There are so many outfits I can change up with the simple use of a thin belt. I mean, look at it here with this white shirt, pink sweater and striped skirt. It just goes so beautifully, don’t you think? Love it!
9. Over-sized Scarf
Ahhh…the over-sized scarf is another style that’s been around for a while because we all love it so much. And truly, what’s not to love when you can bundle yourself up in something soft and cozy, yet still look impeccably stylish, right?
10. Belted Big Sweater
And here we are again with another belted item. See, there are so many articles of clothing you can use a thin belt to change. One of my favorites is to take a big sweater and belt it. Wear it with tights or skinny jeans and boots and you’ll be sportin’ miles of style!
11. Pea Coat
This pink Pea coat is probably the cutest one I’ve ever seen. But any color Pea coat is definitely on my list of “Must Haves” for Fall. I have a white one, but I’m thinking this pink one needs to be added ASAP!
12. Black Tights
Ah yes, black tights. A staple year round if you ask me. But I’ll definitely be wearing mine more now that it’s fall. Pair your tights with belted big sweaters and of course knee high riding boots or ankle boots and a cute Pea coat like this one.
13. Infinity Scarf
Again, as with the over-sized scarf, the infinity scarf is sticking around too. And I’m sure you’re with me on this, we’re lovin’ it!!!
14. Stripes
As with polka dots, stripes have a class associated with them that are usually in the upper regions. You think collegiate or sorority, don’t you? I think they’re pretty darn hot so don’t forget to add them to your look every now and then.
15. Leopard Print Flats
One of my favorite “Must Haves”, Leopard print flats. Ahh…they’re just so adorable. Pair them with tights, skinny jeans, slacks, skirts…you name it, these babies look awesome with whatever you wear them with!
16. Sweater Coat
If you ask The Hubby, he’d say I have way too many sweater coats. But I say, “When it comes to fashion, is there really ever TOO many of anything?” I think not. So, if you don’t have a sweater coat in your wardrobe, make sure to add one, or several ;-)
17. Riding Boots
Riding boots are a definite versatile “Must Have” for Fall and winter. There are so many outfits you can wear these little beauties with. Case in point, this great dress and sweater combo, which you can wear while still holding on to the warmer days of summer.
18. Skinny Crop Pant
Skinny crop pants are another favorite of mine. You can just wear them with so many things. But isn’t this outfit below just the cutest?
19. Sparkly Flat
And last but not least, the sparkly flat. In my opinion, the simple addition of any shoe that has pizzazz…one with a bright color, a bow, some jewels or a sparkly one like below, just takes an outfit one step higher in style. So make sure to add some sparkly flats to your wardrobe as well.
And there you have it, my list of “Must Haves” for Fall. Hope you’ve enjoyed some eye candy and are inspired to add all or some of these beautiful and fun pieces to your wardrobe as well.
Thanks for stopping by!
Love XOXO
